Westbay Community Action Joins Rhode Island’s Recovery Friendly Workplace Network
Rhode Island’s Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) initiative is proud to welcome Westbay Community Action as one of the state’s newest organizations committed to supporting recovery, wellbeing, and long-term community health.
For decades, Westbay Community Action has served as a cornerstone of support for individuals and families across Kent County. Their programs span basic needs assistance, housing support, family services, financial coaching, senior programs, and health and wellness initiatives. Through every service offered, Westbay emphasizes compassion, dignity, and empowerment. Their work uplifts thousands of Rhode Islanders each year and creates pathways for stability and self-sufficiency.
Becoming a Recovery Friendly Workplace is a natural extension of their mission. The designation affirms Westbay’s dedication not only to the clients they serve but also to the wellbeing of their employees. Recovery Friendly Workplaces recognize that substance use, and mental health challenges affect people from all walks of life and that supportive workplaces can play a powerful role in promoting recovery and resilience.
By joining the RFW network, Westbay Community Action is taking meaningful steps to ensure that staff have access to resources, supportive policies, and an environment where recovery is treated with respect and understanding. This commitment aligns with their belief that investing in people strengthens families, organizations, and the broader community.
The Recovery Friendly Workplace program looks forward to partnering with Westbay as they continue building a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.
