About the Role

At Thundermist Health Center, you’ll join a collaborative Dental team dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible care to diverse populations. In this role, you’ll diagnose and treat a wide range of oral health conditions, perform procedures like extractions, fillings, dentures, and root canals, and educate patients on preventative care and oral hygiene. You’ll also supervise dental support staff and ensure accurate clinical documentation and care coordination. What You’ll Do
Clinical Care & Treatment
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures
  • Perform dental procedures including injections, extractions, fillings, root canals, and denture design and placement
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, and long-term oral health practices
  • Evaluate patient conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Provide clinical oversight and supervision to dental hygienists and dental assistants
  • Maintain adherence to infection control and safety standards during all procedures
  • Utilize manual dexterity and precision to perform complex dental procedures
  • Deliver patient-centered care with attention to comfort, communication, and outcomes
Documentation & Care Coordination
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete chart notes in accordance with clinical standards
  • Coordinate referrals for specialty care and follow-up services as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support comprehensive patient care
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality requirements
What We’re Looking For

You’re a skilled and compassionate Dentist who takes pride in delivering high-quality care and building trust with patients. You bring strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to serving diverse communities with respect and cultural humility.

  • Doctoral degree in Dental Medicine or Dental Surgery (DMD or DDS)
  • Active license to practice dentistry in Rhode Island
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in dental and medical terminology
  • Ability to provide a full range of general dental procedures independently
  • Experience supervising or working collaboratively with dental support staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and advancing health equity for underserved populations
Schedule & Locations

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position. Schedules are typically structured within clinic hours of Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and include one evening shift. You’ll participate in a rotating on-call schedule (one week at a time), providing phone-based coverage outside of clinic hours. This position is based at a Thundermist Health Center location.

Compensation

$80.00 – $87.85 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
