Position Summary

Position Description: Academic areas of teaching for the Assistant Professor of Management will include fundamentals of management, and/or human resource, operations, etc. Service responsibilities include innovative teaching, administrative support in School of Business needs and service to the program and advising. The college maintains IACBE and other accreditations; faculty are expected to support accreditation initiatives when applicable.

 

Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,400 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Essential Duties
  • Teach courses in Management.
  • Advise undergraduate students.
  • Participate in College and Departmental activities and committees.

 

Occasional Duties
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the Management Department.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Ability to teach required courses in the Management Program; demonstrated record of teaching experience required.
  • Ability to engage in professional activities.
  • Ability to contribute to the curricular, assessment, and advising work of the Department and its programs.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D or DBA in Management or a related field or Master’s degree and actively engaged in pursuit of an appropriate accredited terminal degree in an appropriate field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Willingness to adopt a leadership role.

 

Environmental Conditions Teaching/instruction is performed in a traditional classroom setting or online.
