POSITION TITLE: Wellness Specialist 

PROGRAM: RW Home Delivered Meals 

PART TIME: Part-Time 

SALARY RANGE: $19.00 - $23.62 Hourly

Summary: The APRI Wellness Specialist provides holistic, and practical support for people living with HIV. Based out of APRI’s Wellness Center at our Hope Street location, the Wellness Specialist builds relationships with APRI clients in order to keep them connected to care. Central to this role is the administration of our Food Pantry, and Nutritional Supplement Program in collaboration with our Dietician. This is the primary point of encounter for our clients, and a hub of multiple resources for people living with HIV.

Equipped to work with multicultural and diverse populations.

Knowledge of available resources pertaining to healthcare systems, social services, basic needs, and more.

A working knowledge of the social determinants of health is preferred. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new databases.

Ability to document in and navigate an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must possess a Community Health Worker certification or must become certified within one year of employment.

Demonstrated sensitivity to LGBTQ clients, racial and ethnic minorities, those living with HIV/AIDS and/or substance abuse.

Ability to travel to various locations as necessary; possession of a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance required.

 Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.

Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Physical Requirements: Employees in this position must have the ability to:

 Travel to and from community locations and agency sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.

Follow professional dress codes of both FSRI and primary health care sites.

Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

 Ability to lift up to 20lbs.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to complete Community Health Worker Training within six months of start.
