Why this job matters: 

Represent the company in the sales, service, and retention of Dual (Medicare/Medicare) eligible products; meet territory and monthly quotas. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct enrollment meetings and health fairs to promote Dual offerings to individuals.  Meet or exceed enrollment goals within the market. Complete all administrative components and manage activities and events within budgets.
  • Seek out local marketing events and sales opportunities. Partner with community organizations, government agencies and local businesses to coordinate community outreach and educational events
  • Ensure consistency of communication initiatives and outreach to targeted populations through multiple channels and marketing campaigns. Act as a liaison internally and externally for senior product lines.
  • Maintain communication with the community and provide education by promoting health management programs and providing community resources available to members.
  • Develop and foster strong customer relationships between local organizations and community partners.
  • Collaborate with internal business areas to develop key performance indicators. Track and monitor progress against key performance indicators.
  • Understand information regarding government products and services. Act as an educator and consultant internally and externally. Collaborate with internal business areas to address member questions related to plan benefits and the enrollment process.
  • Participate in routine and documented staff meetings covering question areas, problem resolution, teamwork improvement activities and results.  Participate in work teams, committees and key marketing activities and annual regulatory site visits.  
  • Exhibit a strong sales performance record and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Combination of education and work experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Three to five years experience in sales or marketing activities
  • Valid Broker License and annual required credits
  • Knowledge of health Care issues, benefit packages, and banking procedures
  • Knowledge of health care issues, Blue Cross products, HMOs, PPOs, POS, financial and banking products, personnel policy and performance appraisals
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities/projects
  • Good business acumen and political savvy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products
  • Strong organizational skills, with a track record of managing multiple tasks effectively
  • Detail oriented skills
  • Ability to take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems

 Location:
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:

  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
