Position Summary | The Management and Marketing Department within the School of Business at Rhode Island College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Health Care Administration. The successful candidate will teach courses related to health care administration and contribute to the program’s ongoing development, housed within the School of Business. This role also involves scholarly research, advising students, curriculum development and contributing to service initiatives within the department, the college, and the broader health care community. The Health Care Administration Program (HCA) at Rhode Island College provides Baccalaureate-level and Masters level education and training for students considering careers in the health care industry. The program is specifically targeted for those pursuing supervisory and management positions and/or preparation for graduate education. The program represents a unique collaboration between the School of Management and the School of Nursing with significant contributions from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development. This four-year, 120-credit interdisciplinary program was crafted based upon accrediting body standards, best practices of existing programs around the nation, and the recommendations of experts, and utilizes courses from 18 different majors. The HCA major also incorporates an internship and an integrative capstone experience. For their restricted electives, students are offered choices within gerontology, human resource management, informatics, management foundations, and wellness. There is also a minor in HCA. |
