Essential Duties Successful candidates will be expected to teach three courses in the fall and spring semesters (3-3 load), with the opportunity to teach summer courses for additional compensation. Classes are small thus allowing for significant student interaction. The college has an average student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1, and most class sizes range between 10 and 30 students. Faculty are also expected to engage in scholarly research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals, advise up to 30 students, and to provide service to the school and college.

The IACBE-accredited School of Business at Rhode Island College invites applications for one open rank, tenure-track faculty position (assistant, associate, or full) in Marketing. We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in teaching with additional emphasis on research. A successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory marketing courses with at least some of the following: global marketing, service marketing, digital marketing, business marketing, retail marketing. There may also be opportunities to develop and/or teach other courses. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in marketing analytics, AI, creativity, and contemporary and developing marketing technologies.

Occasional Duties Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Excellent teaching skills with strong knowledge of content areas and the ability and enthusiasm to deliver this knowledge to undergraduate students.
  • The willingness to work collegially with other faculty in the School of Business is also necessary.
Required Qualifications Education:
Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing or closely related field; ABD may be considered.

Experience:
Teaching experience at the college level is desired; industry experience is also an asset but not required
