Position Overview | The Institute for Education in Healthcare (IEH) is situated within the School of Business. The IEH was formed in 2016 as a unifying body tasked with building partnerships across higher education, health and behavioral healthcare industry partners, community partners, and consumer groups for the purpose of identifying and responding to workforce needs across the care continuum. RI College’s Institute for Education in Healthcare received a $2,300,000 dollar (over four years) award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for strengthening integrated primary behavioral healthcare delivery in community health organizations, where the emphasis is on workforce development through undergraduate and graduate student training and apprenticeships/internships. |
Primary Purpose | The Director of CHW Training & Apprenticeships plays a critical role in establishing the HRSA CHW Healthcare Training Workforce Development Program. This position is responsible for the following tasks: liaison between RIC and community sites, coordination of practice sites, and supervision of the case managers assigned to the project, and coordination of apprentices. The Director of CHW Healthcare Training Workforce Development serves as a liaison between industry partners and state agencies, and RIC departments in the planning, development, and implementation, oversight of all grant deliverables, including evaluation. |
