Why this job matters:

 

BCBSRI is seeking a student intern to provide technical support to the Enterprise IT and Operations department.

 

What you will do:

  • Work with MHK administrators and business users in the implementation and testing of a care and utilization management application.  
  • Working with third party vendors in coordinating upgrade activities
  • Coordinating test scenarios and partnering with business resources in validation efforts. 
  • Work with the Global Access Management (GAM) team to document the process of provisioning and deprovisioning user access and user audits. Furthermore, the intern will support the documentation of the user access and controls for the MHK application.
  • Assist business partners with test planning and quality reviews to ensure existing functionality is not impacted.
  • Support development and implementation of process improvement opportunities in MHK administration responsibility areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Proficiency in leading and managing meetings, ensuring productive discussions and outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

Location:

BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:

  • In-office: onsite 5 days per week
  • Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
  • Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
