POSITION TITLE: SafeCare Provider 

PROGRAM: SafeCare 

FULL TIME: 40 hours per week 

SALARY RANGE: $19.00 - $23.62

Summary: In accordance with all model requirements, deliver SafeCare psychoeducational parent training curriculum with fidelity to parents and caretakers of children up to age 5 who are referred by the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) due to identified needs associated with abuse and/or neglect. Services are provided via 60 to 90 minute sessions in the homes of the referred families and include administration of pre and post assessments (ASQ and NCFAS) to help identify any other needs that the children and families may have which would require additional referrals for services. Work collaboratively with other service providers and the families’ assigned DCYF caseworkers to ensure effective service provision and reduce/eliminate barriers to families’ successful participation in Safe Care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year experience providing home visiting services is required; experience working with young children and their families and/or with families involved in child welfare is preferred.
  • Must be committed to and skilled at building relationships with under-resourced, at-risk families.
  • Must be comfortable going into homes that may be cluttered, dirty, dark, and not air-conditioned.
  • Must be open to learning and delivering a highly structured intervention with fidelity, achieving Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have excellent ability to engage parents and be able to be both creative and flexible in service delivery while maintaining fidelity to the model.
  • Must be open to supervision and coaching feedback/evaluation.
  •  Ability to work independently and as an interdependent team member.
  • Able to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance and registration required.
  • Must have strong computer and internet skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires residential and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:
  • Travel to and from community locations and residential site locations, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
  • Ability to utilize a computer and Electronic Medical Record to complete documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to push or pull 10 lbs or more
  • Ability to pick up 10 lbs or more
  • Ability to be trained in and implement de-escalation techniques utilizing Handle with Care when necessary.
